About the event
Participation is free upon registration, with the option to make a voluntary, non-refundable contribution of any amount to support Culture For Causes Network. Beyond their role as custodians of the past, museums are uniquely positioned to serve society. They foster social cohesion, enable inclusive dialogue, and contribute to building peace. As neutral and publicly accessible spaces, they help bridge divides, humanize differing perspectives, and support processes of mutual understanding — core elements of what UNESCO defines as "building peace in the minds of women and men."
Yet museums are confronted with new and increasingly complex challenges. Among them are digital threats, such as cyberattacks targeting collections and inventories, the manipulation of narratives through AI-generated deepfakes, and the falsification of cultural content. There is also the misuse of works of art for political messaging. Most importantly, however, society is changing.
Is a museum still what it used to be? Does it still…
